Thanksgiving is a highly-anticipated holiday. From the yearly parade to just the general good time we get to spend with family members and loved ones, it is not hard to see why many look forward to it. Centering on gratitude, this holiday provides us the perfect time to sit and reflect on amazing instances that occurred in our lives and in the lives of people that we hold dear.

This holiday, however, is not just for the families related by blood. For some, family means those you work with and those working towards the same goal as you. This holds true for those in the long term care insurance industry.
We have spoken with those who work day and night to help Americans secure the coverage that they deserve. Long term care insurance is a difficult product to digest, but no one knows its value more than these experts. For this week’s roundup, we’ve asked them to fill in the blank below:

I am thankful for LTCI because it lets families be families. Why? When LTC insurance is owned, siblings, aunts, uncles, children, and friends can manage and supplement care instead of suddenly overturning their own lives, employment, plans and dreams when people need help with everyday needs – sometimes very suddenly. Would you hire an 80-year-old as a caregiver? Likely not, but couples presume they’ll be able to help one another. It’s overwhelming. No one likes to imagine needing help with the most basic things, but we likely all will. When insurance is in place, families are thankful, assisted living and home care agencies are thankful (because there is a source of payment so they can bring their expertise) siblings don’t fight or become estranged, children can focus on raising their own children and family can focus on remaining a family.

At its core, this type of insurance gives the gift of security in growing old. After all, aging is something to be thankful for. The last situation we want to find our loved ones in is one where they live in constant fear of cost expenses.
This is exactly the instance that long term care agents fight so hard against. They understand that cost of care in America can be devastating, and they want to help families through that. They understand the good opportunities that long term care insurance can bring to the table. Yes, like any other industry, the world of long term care insurance has had its ups and downs. However, at the end of the day, no one is more thankful for every coverage and security provided through long term care insurance than those working tirelessly in the industry.
